Looking for something different? The response postcards are really a big hit with modern brides. Sans envelope, the postcard has numerous pros:

- Save on Postage! A postcard's stamp is generally half the cost of a response card/envelope stamp. When you are on a budget, this is a plus!

- Complete Package! Especially when creating an invitation with several components, it's great when everything is coordinated. Instead of a plain white card for a response, you can really tie in your theme throughout your invitation package. This way, even your response cards will match your invitation!

- Minimal costs! You'd think that a postcard is more expensive to create versus the traditional set. On the contrary, it should come out to the same cost.

Some things to keep in mind:

*Are you expecting your guests to send gifts with the response? (Checks, gift cards, etc.) If you know that a good quantity of guests will do this, then stick with the traditional card and envelope.

*Really keep the theme going with customized stamps! At Designs by Liat we offer custom stamps to really allow a coordinated theme!

Is it really necessary to have a map included with your invitation these days? I mean with technologies such as MapQuest, Google Maps, Yahoo Maps and navigation are maps just a waste of unnecessary cost?

This is a question I’m always asked with every bride on any budget. A map adds a more traditional feel to your overall invitation package. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve created some seriously modern and funky maps, but it definitely creates the “complete package.”

A few things to consider when you are deciding on choosing a map with your ensemble:

-Is your ceremony far from the reception site?

    If so, you don’t want your guests getting lost on the way to the party. Especially if there are tricky turns and numerous streets, a map might be a great convenience for your guests.

-Is your reception on an unmarked address? (Such as a beach or park)

    If this is the case for you, you’ll most probably want to opt in for a map. This way you can tag 2 significant land marks and specify your site in between them. This will give your guests a more appropriate gage.

-Having numerous out of town guests?

    Most rental cars don’t come with a navigation system. Including a map will just make it easier for these guests to make it on time to your wedding.

Afraid of the total cost a map might add to your invitation budget? A great tip is to include a map only for the guests who might need it.

Autumn weddings mean warm colors and vibrant accents. Carry the theme throughout the ceremony with an over abundance of candle light and scattered flower petals. Add a coordinating favor to really tie the theme together!

What is letterpress?

Nothing can compare to the quality and feel of a letterpress wedding invitation. Letterpress printing is one of the oldest printing methods. A plate was made of the artwork and text and then pressed down into the paper creating a "backwards" effect of embossing. The only difference now is that it is done with polymer plates instead of lead type. The advantage of this is that now we can print letterpress text, line art images, and even halftone photos from your digital files, without the time-consuming expense of traditional lead typesetting.
